A paradise for hikers and budding naturalists, La Clape massif has some of the region’s most beautiful views onto the deep blue sea. In the early morning, before the heat becomes too strong, follow the wild paths with their scent of pine and aromatic garrigue plants and take the pink flamingos and coots by surprise against the background of the motionless and transparent Bages-Sigean lagoon. The lagoon can be discovered in a number of stages on a hiking circuit. A canal boat trip is something to envisage too in this land of canals and rivers: once you have tasted the charms of the Robine’s quiet waters, joining the Canal de Midi to the sea, you will want to come back!

The Tournebelle estate
The Tournebelle estate is a miniature Camargue! This bull farm has about a hundred bulls and Camargue horses. Situated between Bages-Sigean and the Robine canal, it is run with a passion by Simone Ribes and her ten bull keepers (gardians). In this magnificent setting, you can experience bull racing, a jaunt in a horse and carriage and long rides on horseback over the wild countryside.
